Friendship is at the heart of so many romances, and the first story delves into it by focusing on the age-old debate over whether a boy and a girl can be friends or not.

Kajal aka Kaju (Ahsaas Channa) and Faizaan aka Faizu (Prit Kamani) are best friends. Faizaan is a die-hard movie buff (especially Jimmy Shergill’s, as he is friend-zoned in almost every film), whereas Kajal is the more serious but enjoys Faizaan’s banter. They discuss everything, from their dating experiences to what outfits they should wear. The best part of this story is that even their simple conversations and performances give the impression to the viewers that it is real and organic. It concludes with the lovely song, ‘hain pyaar kya tu dekh’ which is full of warmth.

The second episode starts with Shweta (Adah Sharma) reacting to the annoying kid of the building. After the untimely death of her life partner three years ago, she has become a short-tempered person who is irritated by practically everyone, from neighbors to birds and pets around. The story appears to be tragic at first, but it is developed in such a way that it builds up a beautiful bond between a lonely girl and a stray dog. This concludes with how her outlook on life has changed.

The third narrative is about a love story between an aged couple — Sunita (Sheeba Chaddha) and Mahendra (Rajit Kapur) — who are still deeply in love after 40 years of marriage. Mahendra’s love and care for his wife, who is suffering from Alzheimer’s, will bring a tear to your eyes. Rajit’s impersonation of Shah Rukh Khan, on the other hand, is endearing every now and then. This is the most moving and heartfelt story of them all. And the character’s arc is structured in such a way that one will easily resonate with the couple, tempting you to make some adarak wali chai, get into the feels of yesteryear and relax while watching the show.

The last story is set in a cinema hall, where the protagonist, Jaspal (Saqib Saleem), is desperately waiting for her fiancé, Jasmin (Nidhi Singh). He’s the type of person who enjoys watching commercials, trailers, and even Mukesh’s lungs advertisement while holding a tub of popcorn.

As a result, he becomes agitated while waiting for her. When Jasmin arrives, the fun really begins, especially when she starts arguing with him about every little thing. Despite Saqib and Nidhi’s impeccable comic timing, this story pales in comparison to the others in the collection. It is, nonetheless, still enjoyable.

‘Aisa Waisa Pyaar’ leaves you with the impression that the show ended too soon because all of the stories are entertaining to watch. Overall, you’ll enjoy every minute of these modern-day love tales.
